A podcast editing app that does the editing

Most "podcast editing apps" hand you a timeline and a tutorial. Orcast is a native Mac app that does the edit itself: open your shoot folder and it syncs the cameras, cuts to whoever is speaking, and gives you a finished multicam episode. Free to start.

Built as a real Mac app

Native, not a browser tab

Multi-camera video is heavy — Orcast runs natively on Apple Silicon, reading your files straight off the disk.

Drop a folder, get an edit

No importing clip by clip. Open the shoot folder and Orcast reads every camera, mic and recorder at once.

Your files stay put

The app never uploads your video — only a tiny audio fingerprint leaves the Mac to work out the cut.

Export anywhere

A finished mp4, or a layered timeline for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.

Honest about what it is

Orcast is a Mac app for video podcasts with cameras. It automates the multicam edit — it isn't an audio-only editor, doesn't remove filler words, and needs internet + a free sign-in (the cut is computed on the server from loudness numbers, never your footage). There's no Windows or iPhone version yet.

Podcast editing app FAQ

Is there an app to edit podcasts?

Yes — Orcast is a native Mac app that edits multicam video podcasts automatically. Open your shoot folder and it syncs the cameras and mics by sound, cuts to whoever is speaking, and gives you a finished episode on a timeline.

Is it a Mac or an iPhone app?

It's a macOS desktop app (Apple Silicon). Editing multi-camera video needs a real computer; Orcast runs natively on your Mac, not in a browser.

Does the app upload my video?

No. The app reads your files locally and never uploads the video — only a tiny audio fingerprint is used to compute the cut. With subtitles on, only the audio is sent for transcription.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes — a connection and a free email sign-in are required, because the cut plan is computed on Orcast's server from loudness data (never your video). The app then builds the edit on your Mac.

How much does the app cost?

Free to download, with the first 5 minutes of any edit free. Full-length editing and export are on the Pro plan; during the beta new accounts get 30 days of Pro free.
