Orcast — multicam podcast editing for macOS
Turn recorded conversations into a first cut you can review. Sync your cameras by sound, let Orcast switch to the speaker, then export MP4 or a layered FCP7 XML timeline for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
Requirements and installation
For Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 12 or later. Check Apple menu → About This Mac: the chip should be Apple M1 or newer. Download the DMG, open it and drag Orcast into Applications. Start Orcast from Applications and sign in. An Intel installer is not currently available.
MP4 · Premiere Pro · DaVinci Resolve
Continue in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve using FCP7 XML and keep the original media available for relinking. Modern Final Cut Pro uses FCPXML, a different format: Orcast does not export a native editable Final Cut timeline. Use an MP4 when you need a rendered video.
Review before publishing
Test a short section containing a change of speaker, an interruption and a pause. Check sync, framing and camera choices, then open one export in your finishing editor. Evaluate the total time including corrections, not just processing time.
GuideVideo files stay on your computer. An internet connection and email sign-in are required. Building the cut sends technical audio data and editing settings to the online engine; optional speech recognition sends selected audio to a cloud service.
