The usual flow: finish the edit, export the audio, upload it to a transcription service, wait, download the text, then hunt for the good moments and cut captions by hand. The whole recording has to go up to a separate service and come back before you see a single line.

From interview to text — four steps
Drop in the interview
Open the folder containing your camera and microphone recordings. Check that Orcast can read the files and that tracks intended for audio sync share usable sound; unsupported files may need conversion.
It syncs and transcribes the speech
Speech recognition runs over the internet only: the audio of the recording you picked goes to a cloud service — never the video. The transcript follows the recording, so you can read the interview as text and find the moment you're after.
Get the subtitles as an SRT file
Alongside the transcript, Orcast saves the subtitles as a separate SRT file next to the recording they were recognised from. Load it into your editor or upload it with the clip, so silent-scroll viewers still get the line — Orcast cannot burn the subtitles into the picture.
Export text, subtitles and the edit
Take the transcript and the SRT file sitting next to your recording, and export the video itself — a finished mp4 or a layered timeline as an interchange XML (FCP7 XML): Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve open that file directly.

Does Orcast transcribe interviews?
Yes. Start speech recognition for the selected recording to get a transcript and a separate SRT file. It requires a cloud connection and an available recognition allowance or configured provider access.
Is my interview uploaded to transcribe it?
Your video files are never uploaded. Speech recognition runs over the internet only: the audio of the recording you picked goes to a cloud service — never the video. To work out the cut plan, Orcast's online engine receives only technical audio data.
Can I get subtitles as well as a transcript?
Yes — Orcast produces both. The transcript is the full text to read and search; the subtitles arrive as a separate SRT file next to the recording they were recognised from. Orcast cannot burn them into the picture.
What languages does it transcribe?
Orcast transcribes the main widely-spoken languages. Accuracy is best with clear audio — good mics and low background noise — which is exactly the setup a recorded interview usually has.
